Made excellent points
that, "Rats whose moms lick and groom them
when they are young and feeling stressed do much better in life than those who
weren't comforted in that way.The rat study was a step toward proving strong
early attachment also helps humans overcome a lot of bumps later. If more
parents hug and kiss and coo in those first years, we'd have a lot more happy
and successful children."

i
really enjoyed this article. i also like the prevention center to improve
parenting skills, if i didn't have such supportive parents throughout my
schooling i probably wouldn't be following my dream. Another great quote from
the article states, "Mindfulness practices can increase people’s awareness of their own
emotions and their ability to regulate them. This can make it possible for them
to reduce feelings of depression and anxiety, and since a “pretty good
percentage of teenagers are at risk for depression,” it’s important to have it
in the educational tool bag."

investing the
schools into humanities classes is a great idea- maybe i'm just a math and
science person but i feel that humanities are also a great way to have a good
education. "not only a gaining of some practical means of helping present
life, but the making of present life mean more that it meant before."-du

teachers being
politically engaged would be nice. "It's a matter of establishing what are
the students' rights with regard to their education and how does censorship
limit access to curriculum, and limit the voices who are already in the
classroom and advocating for our students, for their culture."-cruz

"Thinking is
an action" i think critical thinking is one of the best ways to teach, i
had a teacher that gave us critical thinking questions as homework and it
really helped me learn.
